Introduction & Acknowledgements

This multimedia resource provides a detailed insight into the Kingma System bass flute. The information given is intended to be primarily of use to composers and performers, and has been compiled from practical experience of the composer-performer relationship working with Kingma System flutes since 2000. In cases where there are multiple fingering combinations or notational possibilities for a particular technique, the examples shown here have been found to be the most practically viable. Content will be regularly updated to reflect current knowledge, and the author welcomes comments or suggestions, either in terms of content or technical matters.

The instruments used in the creation of this resource were small-bore Kingma System bass flutes with B footjoint, made by Eva Kingma in 2007 and 2012.
