There are many potential alternate fingerings for the Kingma System bass flute, which can be chosen according to the required timbre. Many of these fingerings, however, result in unwanted microtonal pitch alterations. The fingerings suggested below maintain the pitch as far as possible, and have been found to be effective within a practical context. Alternate fingerings are not available below d#'.
